Most spotters will have noticed the travelling Dakota circus in the last weeks.
To remember the D-Day invasion in Normandy 75 years ago a large group of Dakota's gathered in Duxford to drop parachutist on the beaches of Normandy.
The dakota's made the flight from the UK to Caen in the early evening of June 5th. There were two groups, the first group flew straight from Duxford to Caen, the second flew the parachutist which were first dropped before landing in Caen.
After the festivities in Caen the dakota's continued on to Germany to remember the Berlin airlift.
Kind regards Eddy
